Git worktree environments (1.6.0)
Compare committed branches at separate local subdomains with Laravel environment defaults.
In Stratos 1.6.0, open a site at the root of a Git repository and expand Git Worktrees. Refresh discovers its existing worktrees. Reveal opens a checkout in Finder. Pro can link an existing checkout after a confirmation: this preserves its environment and does not isolate an existing database.
Automatic environment creation supports Laravel projects at the repository root. To create an environment, enter a new branch name and choose a parent folder outside the source project. Stratos checks out the current committed HEAD into a new worktree and links a unique branch subdomain. Uncommitted source changes and installed dependencies are not copied.
- A local .env is generated from the committed .env.example. The source .env is never copied.
- Laravel uses an independent SQLite file, file cache and sessions, synchronous queues, and log mail/broadcast drivers. Optionally clone a configured SQLite database inside the source project.
- Vite and Reverb receive separate ports, which are checked again when project workers start.
- Install Composer/Node dependencies, generate an APP_KEY, run migrations, and review custom integrations before starting the branch.
- MySQL/PostgreSQL schema cloning, custom application connection isolation, and automatic dependency installation are not included.
Unlink removes the Stratos link only. Git worktrees and branches are never force-deleted. A failed configuration leaves the checkout available for inspection and reports its path.
